A Little Bit About Myself:
I’m Mohammed, a dedicated educator, math content creator, and high school teacher with a passion for helping students master mathematics through clear and engaging instruction. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with students from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels, always adapting my teaching methods to meet each student’s unique needs.
My goal is not just to help students grasp math concepts but to inspire confidence and foster a genuine sense of accomplishment in their abilities. Through dynamic tutorials, personalized lessons, and practical strategies, I strive to make math feel approachable and enjoyable for everyone, no matter their starting point.
My Journey:
Mathematics has always been a field defined by structure, logic, and problem-solving—yet for many students, it can feel overwhelming. My journey into teaching began with my deep passion for math, which led me to earn a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University. Although my academic background was grounded in STEM, I discovered my true calling in education, where I could simplify complex concepts and make them more accessible.
As a high school math teacher, I’ve had the privilege of working with students across all levels, and I’ve seen firsthand the challenges traditional teaching methods sometimes fail to address. From test anxiety and gaps in foundational knowledge to a lack of confidence, I know the right approach can make all the difference. This is why I created Screened Instructor—a platform dedicated to providing structured, engaging, and approachable math lessons for all students, no matter where they are on their learning journey.

Experience:
After earning my Master of Engineering, I joined Teach for America and have since dedicated myself to teaching high school mathematics at a Title 1 school, where over 96% of students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Over the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching a variety of math courses, including Algebra II Honors, College Algebra, Statistics, and CP Mathematics (for students not yet meeting TSIA2 requirements).
In addition to my teaching experience, I hold a Texas Educator Certificate for Mathematics (Grades 7-12), which affirms my commitment to providing high-quality, student-centered education.
I earned my B.S. in Chemical Engineering and M.Eng. in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University (’19 & ’21).
My core belief:
I believe every student deserves access to a quality education, regardless of their race, zip code, or any other uncontrollable factor. When given the opportunity, students can and will shine, showcasing their unique talents. Hearing the "Aha!" moments in my students' voices reinforces my belief that curiosity and problem-solving know no barriers.
Measuring Impact:
Macroscopic View
As of now, my tutorial videos on YouTube have accumulated over 3 million views. If we consider that each view represents an average of 1 to 2 minutes of watch-time, this translates to approximately 75,000 hours of educational content consumed (using an average watch-time of 1.5 minutes). To put this into perspective: if someone were to volunteer and tutor a student for 3 hours a day, working from 9 am to 5 pm and tutoring from 6 pm to 9 pm, it would take over 25,000 days, or roughly 68 years, to match the impact of these views.

While these numbers are encouraging, what truly fuels my passion are the individual moments of success. Hearing feedback like:
"Finally something that made it click in my head!!!".
“Really good, useful video. Fully instructional and doesn't hang around - perfect!”
These comments remind me of the meaningful difference educational content can make in a student's life. Each “Aha!” moment is a victory that extends far beyond the numbers.
